Things To Do and See during your stay at the Red House River Cabin

  • The Delaware River Club
    •  Small shop but has the necessities and knowledgeable staff.  Guide service is available.  Follow the directions for the West Branch and just keep going.  You will pass a few access points before passing Ball’s Eddy access on the left.   Just keep going straight and you will come to it.  Stay on this road to continue on to Hancock

Fly-Fishing Shops:

  • West Branch Angler
    • The West Branch Angler is an Orvis endorsed lodge with a full shop including guide service.  Full selection of Orvis, Simms, and Fishpond gear.  They have a full selection of flies and a nice staff that can give you the technical details you are looking for.  We shoot skeet and clays there as well.  Call ahead, it’s a great way to pass a couple of hours mid afternoon waiting for the hatch.  Take 17 East to Hale Eddy (look carefully), take a right over the bridge and an immediate left on River Road.  The resort is on the right.

Red House River Cottage and Guide Service

  • Butterfield's Cafe
    • The area's best for breakfast and lunch just a short drive into town.  George is an excellent host and the staff is always cheerful.  In addition to the muffins, french toast, and delicious coffee, you might be surprised by the specialties that come out of the kitchen daily.

  • BC Pizza & More
    • Randy and John have the best pizza in town, and the only delivery.  In addition to pizzas they have a great selection of salads, sandwiches, burgers, and an array of Italian specials.  And of course, fabulous wings!  BC's is open late and best bet for a grabbing something after a late evening hatch.

  • Koo Koose Grill
    • Koo Koose is the full service restaurant in Deposit.  Lots of daily specials to meet lots of different tastes.  Tina's all time favorite is the Oquaga Steak and risoto.  They have the only full service bar in town.

  • Circle E Diner
    • The Circle E Diner was our first go to when we came to the area and remains a favorite.  They have two locations in Hancock, one up at the golf course and one in the village.  In addition to your expected diner mainstays, don't be fooled, the daily specials will surprise you.  If you are fishing down river we highly reccomend stopping in the Circle E.
